Ruma is a Yorkshire based homeware company specialising in luxury lighting, furniture and home accessories. Ruma is a B2C offering from Pacific Lifestyle who have been designing and importing furniture for over 50 years, working with trade customers to provide them with high quality and on trend products.
When the Shopify Online Store 2.0 upgrade rolled out Ruma needed to upgrade their existing store theme to the new architecture. This was a major update to their website and whilst it would still look the same, there was a lot of development work that was required to be done by us.
Our developers got to work on the project by installing the new theme upgrade on a development site, trying to replicate the existing website as closely as possible. This required making some minor tweaks and code changes to the upgraded website.
Once completed, we compared the existing live website to the new upgraded website and produced a 40 page document for the client to detail the differences between both. The client then decided on the final features they wanted to go ahead with and modifications were made where necessary, including product bundling and swatches to provide better content management.
Upgrading to Shopify Online Store 2.0 allowed the client to manage and make changes to their website more efficiently, especially the product bundling aspect which was a huge benefit to them. We were also able to improve the speed of the site and increase the Shopify Speed Score. Since the website upgrade, we have maintained our relationship with Ruma and continue to optimise their website.
