From Post to Page

Following the success of the Euros 2024 predictor, Betfred approached us with a new project for their Insights website. This time, the goal was to bring live horse racing results directly to their audience.

The challenge was to use an existing Racing Post API to deliver real-time horse racing results to their Insights website. This would give users instant access to race outcomes and key information, all while boosting Betfred’s organic search visibility during major racing events such as Cheltenham and Royal Ascot.

A custom WordPress plugin that integrated seamlessly with the Betfred Insight’s website, both technically and visually.

We designed and implemented a SQL database, optimised to store and deliver data from the Racing Post API quickly and efficiently. Code was developed to retrieve horse racing results every minute, keeping the plugin up to date with the latest information. PHP templates were built to bring the design to life, fully integrating the plugin with the site.

Working with the Betfred Insight’s team, we implemented dynamic page titles and meta descriptions to optimise the site’s SEO and boost visibility during key periods.

A robust plugin that efficiently retrieves real-time horse racing results across UK events, giving Betfred Insights users instant access to the latest outcomes. 

Users can follow races as they unfold and access detailed information within minutes of each result being released. Beyond live updates, the plugin maintains a secure archive of historical race data, ensuring users have continuous access to post racing information.
